Kinnder Hotblood prevailed to win Ontario Sires Stakes

In a stunning upset, Kinnder Hotblood prevailed in a photo finish to win the $150,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Mid-Season Final for three-year-old trotting fillies at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Trainer/driver Matt Bax guided the filly to victory, with R Liza coming in second and Valuable Miss in third. Kinder Hotblood, who had previously finished fifth in two other Gold attempts, now has six victories and $148,903 in lifetime earnings.

In other races on the card, Wicked N Single and Wickedpace, both offspring of Mcwicked, claimed victories in the two divisions of the OSS Gold leg for two-year-old pacing fillies. Wicked N Single, piloted by Jonathan Drury, won off a pocket trip in the first division, while Wickedpace held on for a narrow victory in the second division. Both fillies continue to impress in their early careers.

Whichwaytothebeach won the $36,000 Preferred Pace, setting a new lifetime best of 1:48.4. Trained by Garry Merner, the six-year-old gelding now has 23 wins and $895,053 in earnings. Woodbine Mohawk Park's next card will take place on Monday, Jul. 8 at 7:10 p.m. EDT.
