Trainer Jared Brown is back at Assiniboia Downs earlier than usual this spring, eager to get his promising new crop of babies on the track. According to him, being in the presence of horses is the most gratifying aspect of this profession
“You’ve got to get them going early,” Brown stated. He purchased six yearlings at the Keeneland September Sale last fall, paying particular attention to pedigree and conformation.
Brown has amassed a career record of 577-560-519 from 3,924 starts, earning a total purse of £4,603,375. Although he has not yet claimed a training title at the Downs, he has experienced notable success in recent years. In 2023, he secured a respectable third place in the standings, following up with second-place finishes in both 2021 and 2022. As he looks ahead to the upcoming 2024 season at ASD, Brown is excited about the prospects of his seasoned horses and promising 2-year-olds. However, he is committed to taking a measured approach with the younger horses, ensuring that they are not overworked.
