Keith Grass' B G Warrior successfully overcame blazing early fractions and bravely fended off the late surge of Swall and Honey Pants to emerge victorious in the 28th edition of the £125,000 Queen Stakes at Turfway Park.
Under the guidance of trainer Hugo Andrade, B G Warrior, piloted by Albin Jimenez, completed the six-furlong Queen Stakes in a time of 1:09.93.
Right from the moment starter Caleb Hayes released the gates for the Queen Stakes, B G Warrior quickly established a commanding lead of 2½ lengths over her 11 competitors, covering the opening quarter-mile in a swift :21.66.
After clocking a half-mile in :44.29, B G Warrior began to show signs of fatigue as Swall and Honey Pants launched their impressive late charges from her outer side. In the final stretch, B G Warrior displayed immense determination to hold off both Swall and Honey Pants by a mere head, securing her second consecutive stakes victory at Turfway Park.
