Thorpedo Anna will return to the site of her impressive victory at the Acorn as she looks to secure her third consecutive Grade 1 win in the $500,000 Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga on Saturday. The race is a 1 1/8-mile route for three-year-old fillies.
Owned by Nader Alaali, Mark Edwards, Judy Hicks, and Magdalena Racing, and trained by Kenny McPeek, Thorpedo Anna aims to maintain her position as the top three-year-old filly after a successful spring that included three graded-stakes wins. These victories were highlighted by dominant performances in the Kentucky Oaks and the Acorn as part of the Belmont Stakes racing festival.
After her impressive win in the Acorn, Thorpedo Anna has been training at Saratoga in preparation for the CCA Oaks. She has been described as a strong and imposing presence on the track, and McPeek believes her physical attributes play a significant role in her success.
