Trainer Mark Beckwith Achieves Stellar Success at Saratoga Casino Hotel

Mark Beckwith orchestrated an impressive display of triumphs on Saturday evening, February 24, at Saratoga Casino Hotel, guiding pacers Boozer and Little Willy to victory in the card's $15,541 co-features.

Boozer, a standout performer during his three-year-old season in 2023, boasted an impressive record of 11 wins and earnings exceeding $88,000. Now a four-year-old, the Huntsville gelding continued his winning streak at Saratoga, clinching victory for the second consecutive week under the guidance of Beckwith's son, Brett.

Brett confidently steered the 3-5 favourite Boozer to the lead in his conditioned assignment, clocking an impressive time of 1:55.1. This victory marked Boozer's 13th win in 33 career starts and showcased the winning combination of trainer Mark Beckwith and co-owner George Zitone.

In another remarkable performance, Little Willy emerged victorious in his division of the conditioned class, posting a time of 1:56.1 as the preferred choice for the Beckwith duo. Transitioning from the Open class, the six-year-old Up The Credit gelding secured his first win in three starts this year, bringing his career victories to an impressive 17 and edging closer to the notable $200,000 milestone in lifetime earnings.

The Beckwiths continued their winning streak with Go Dancing A, followed by a stellar performance from Jim Devaux driving Tack Room Chatter to secure the stable's grand slam of victories.

The Beckwiths' dominance was further underscored as both Mark and Brett claimed four wins each during the evening's events. Brett's success extended to the opener, where he skillfully guided the Kyle Spagnola-trained Big Idea to victory. Notably, this marked the seventh consecutive card where Brett achieved a minimum of three wins, solidifying his status as a rising star within the sulky racing circuit at just 21 years old.
