In an exhilarating showdown at the $4,500 Preferred Pace, Twin B Tuffenuff, driven by Gilles Barrieau, edged out Roll Em for a thrilling victory, finishing just a head in front with a time of 1:54.1. Roll Em, the race favourite and driven by Marc Campbell, took an early lead, clocking splits of 27.4, 57, and 1:26.3. However, Twin B Tuffenuff made a bold move first-over during the third quarter, battling fiercely to the wire. Bee Two Bee, driven by Jason Hughes, rounded out the top three finishers.
Trainer Ron Matheson celebrated another victory earlier on the card with House Edge Hanover, who crossed the finish line in 1:54.4.
Ken Murphy had an impressive afternoon, attaining a driving triple with wins from Heres To Art (1:58.3), Spack Jarrow (1:57.2), and Rymar Jimbo (1:56.4), showcasing his skill across various races and stables.
Marc Campbell continued to dominate the drivers’ standings, achieving his 15th consecutive season at the top. His victories included Phil My Beer (1:59.1) in race 1 and the two-year-old Macho Phil (1:56.3) in race 7, both trained by his son, Landon Campbell. The duo celebrated together in the winner’s circle with Jewels Dragon (1:54.1) in race 9, and Campbell also had notable catch-driving wins with Bacononabiscuit (1:54.1) and Avatar J (1:55.4).
