$7.5 million in Preakness weekend horsemen's bonuses close on Tuesday

Horsemen will receive two qualifiers for races at Newmarket and Deauville on Preakness Day, May 18, at Pimlico. In addition to $7.5 million in bonus opportunities as part of the recently established 1/ST Grand 3 racing series.

The owner or owners of the horse that wins the $2 million Preakness, the $1 million California Crown (G1) on September 28, at Santa Anita, and the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) at Gulfstream Park in 2025 will get a $5 million bonus in addition to their respective prices.

In the meanwhile, the owner or owners of the horse that wins the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1), the $750,000 California Crown John Henry Turf (G2), and Pimlico's $500,000 Dinner Party (G3) will receive a $2.5 million bonus.

Furthermore, the victor of the $100,000 Jim McKay Turf Sprint will be eligible to participate automatically in the July Cup Stakes (G1) at Newmarket on July 13 and will also get a travel incentive. The California Crown Eddie D Turf Sprint (G2) on September 28 will grant free entry and a travel bonus to the winner of the July Cup.

The turf fillies and mares who win the Gallorette Stakes (G3) will be automatically entered and given a travel incentive to compete in the Prix Jean Romanet (G1) at Deauville on August 18. Only if the Gallorette winner is four years old or older, will have a right to get this prize. While fillies and mares three years of age and up can enter the Gallorette, only four-year-olds and up can enter the Prix Jean Romanet.

Additionally, trainers who enter a minimum of five horses in stakes races throughout Preakness weekend will get a $100,000 incentive from the Maryland Jockey Club. Trainers who earn the most points in non-stakes races during the weekend will receive an additional $50,000 bonus.

Nominations conclude on Tuesday, May 7 and are free for all stakes except the Preakness.
