American Risk Set to Lead Today’s Feature

Trained by George Rennison, American Risk will be the star attraction in Tonight’s featured pace at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway marking the penultimate program of the 2024 season in Prince County, P.E.I. The final event is scheduled for November 19. Tuesday's 10-race card kicks off at 6 p.m., with the $3,400 top class featured in race nine.

American Risk, the 5-2 morning line favourite, arrives from Truro Raceway with Corey MacPherson taking the reins for trainer Rennison and the Risky Bizz Group of Truro, N.S. The eight-year-old gelding by American Ideal recently posted a win in 1:56.4 on Truro's closing day of the season.

First Glance, trained by Jennifer Doyle and piloted by David Dowling, is aiming for his third consecutive victory from post two as he seeks his 11th win of the year. Silver Spirit, handled by Ryan Desroche, has the rail advantage for trainer Tammy Collings after placing second in his debut with her barn on November 5.

Other contenders include Sauble Attack from post three, representing Paul Biggar’s barn, and Brookdale Johnny, starting from post five, aiming for another high-stakes win with trainer Phil Sizer.

The Backstretch Beat touts American Risk as the favourite, noting his impressive 2024 record with eight wins and predicting a strong start from post four to secure the victory in Summerside.

In race four, Woodmere Heather M, trained by Doyle and driven by Dowling, will pursue her fifth consecutive win. Owned by Danny Birt of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I., her main competition includes Jazzville, driven by Paul Langille, and Dollys Sky, piloted by Kyle Desroche.
