Bill Tharrenos triumphed with two victors at Gulfstream Park on Thursday.
Bringer Of Rain, an Ontario-bred horse sired by Twirling Candy and owned by Gus Diakoloukas, clinched victory in the $16,000 claiming race covering 1 1/16 miles on the Tapeta surface. This marked the five-year-old's fourth race under his current connections. Notably, he was acquired on the same day by Leon King Stable, setting a new personal best with an impressive 82 Beyer Figure.
Tharrenos secured another win with Mehlek, owned by Bull and Bear Stables, a Kentucky-bred colt sired by Mshawish, who emerged victorious in a one-mile starter allowance race on the turf. Displaying a fantastic performance, the four-year-old colt achieved an 84 Beyer Figure in a commanding 1 3/4 length triumph. This success marked his fourth win in 13 races and his third under his current ownership.
In other racing news, Dr Vicki Banks, the co-owner of Giant Gizmo, celebrated a remarkable 10-length victory at Mahoning Valley on Thursday. The six-year-old gelding, bred in Ontario, is sired by Giant Gizmo out of I’m Good With It by Where’s the Ring, and is owned by Richard Davis.
