In Chester, Pennsylvania, supporters of Build The Wall, a three-year-old gelding by Huntsville, expressed some concerns over the last two weeks as he appeared to lag slightly behind the pace. However, they were pleased to see him secure another victory on Sunday afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia, clocking in at 1:52.1.
Daniel Dube started with Build The Wall in third position while Tyson Hanover took the lead from the favoured Ishotthesheriff GB, establishing solid fractions of :27.1, :55.4, and 1:24.1. Throughout the race, Ishotthesheriff GB kept close to the front, eventually pulling out of the pocket during the far turn, while Build The Wall maintained a position just off the leaders.
After demonstrating a formidable finishing kick in the last eighth of a mile, Dube guided Build The Wall along the inside to overtake Ishotthesheriff by a neck, with Ishotthesheriff narrowly winning a photo finish for second against Tyson Hanover. Build The Wall, now with eight victories in twelve starts this year after being unraced at two, is trained by Maria Reid and owned by Fusco Strong LLC and Peter Fusco Racing LLC.
Driving doubles were recorded by Simon Allard, William Carter, Daniel Dube, and Geovany Hernandez in the AHDC amateur races. Notably, trainers Mark Akins, Billy Carter, and Josue Garcia each sent out two winners. Harrah’s Philadelphia announced there would be no live racing on Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, with the next event scheduled for Sunday, December 1.
