Caesars, Monmouth Begin Construction on Trackside Complex

A full-service restaurant and state-of-the-art facilities are scheduled to debut in 2025.

Monmouth Park and Caesars Entertainment announced the opening of a trackside sportsbook and entertainment complex that will set a new standard for New Jersey's sports betting and race viewing experiences. With 16,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor sports viewing with wall-to-wall flat-screen televisions, food from nationally recognised restaurant partner Shake Shack, and more than 25 self-service betting kiosks, the cutting-edge facility and full-service restaurant combo are scheduled to open in 2025.

On Tuesday, officials from Caesars Sportsbook, Monmouth Park, and local authorities ceremoniously broke ground and buried golden shovels to commemorate the event.

"We are proud to continue investing in Monmouth Park to elevate the sports betting experience for New Jersey sports fans," stated, senior vice president and chief development officer at Caesars Digital, Dan Shapiro. "The sportsbook at Monmouth Park has been a success since Gov. Phil Murphy placed the state's first legal sports bet in 2018 and continues to be an outstanding complement to our online businesses. We look forward to continuing our support for horse racing in New Jersey and bringing sports fans and racing fans to this historic racetrack."

The chairman and chief executive officer of Monmouth Park's operator, Darby Development, LLC, Dennis Drazin, commended Caesars for their continued partnership with the Jersey Shore racetrack.

"We're extremely excited to begin this next chapter with the upcoming opening of the new Caesars Sportsbook at Monmouth Park," Drazin noted. "This facility will be state-of-the-art with all the amenities that a first-class sportsbook can offer to patrons. As we start our sixth year of sports betting, we continue to see the growth and expansion we knew would eventually happen. This will be a magnificent addition to the Monmouth Park facility as our partnership with Caesars continues to evolve."

After the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) was overturned in 2018, Monmouth Park launched a William Hill sportsbook, making history by taking the first-ever legal in-person sports wager in New Jersey. The sportsbook at Monmouth Park changed its name to Caesars Sportsbook in early 2022 when Caesars acquired William Hill. Since then, it has taken in-person sports bets and provided pari-mutuel wagering.
