Candy Overload at Woodbine's Kennedy Road Stakes — Michael Burns

Candy Overload's Return to Glory

Candy Overload made a dazzling return to the track in the Big Daddy Stakes at Turfway Park on March 9. The son of Reload, unseen since his ninth-place finish at the Bold Venture Stakes last August, stormed down the track under Axel Concepcion to claim the $95,000 stake over 6 furlongs on Tapeta, recording an impressive 89 Beyer Figure. Owned by Pantofel Stable, Wachtel Stable, and Gary Barber, Candy Overload, running without Lasix, completed the distance in 1:10.79.

Despite starting as a 13-to-1 underdog, Candy Overload's victory returned lucrative prices of $28.40, $8.08, and $3.88. With this triumph, the six-year-old has secured six wins in his 22-career starts, accumulating purse earnings of $498,522.

Bred by Sherry McLean's Northern Dawn Stables and Denny Andrews, Candy Overload is a son of Mini Candy by Candy Ride (Arg).
