In honour of International Women’s Day, Woodbine Mohawk Park is set to showcase a unique event featuring a field of female drivers on Friday, March 8.
This year will witness the third consecutive celebration of International Women's Day races at Mohawk, with a notable roster of past champions returning to the track. Marie-Claude Auger, Natasha Day, and Anita Ouellette, among others, will be part of the 10-driver lineup for this year’s race, a $12,000 conditioned trot slated as the third race on Friday’s card. Joining them will be Marielle Enberg, Pam Forgie, Samara Johnson, Maggie Jones, Brittany Kennedy, Jessica Turenne, and Julie Walker.
The Friday evening action is set to kick off at 7:10 p.m., with the International Women's Day race serving as the focal point of the 10-race program. The simulcast show for the night will be hosted by Elissa Blowe, Monique Vág, and Renee Kierans, shining a spotlight on the achievements of women in harness racing.
