Deterministic will be making his turf debut in the Grade 3 Manila

Deterministic, winner of the Grade 3 Gotham on dirt, will be making his turf debut in the Grade 3 Manila at Belmont at Aqueduct on Saturday. Trained by Christophe Clement, the Liam's Map colt is undefeated in two starts and will be looking to continue his success on the grass.

After finishing off the board in his last two dirt starts, Deterministic's connections have decided to try him on turf. Miguel Clement, son and assistant to Christophe, believes the one-mile distance of Manila is a good starting point for the experiment. Deterministic has shown versatility in his workouts and should be able to handle the turf surface.

Jockey Dylan Davis will be aboard Deterministic for the first time, starting from post 6 in the race. Graded stakes-winner Neat will also be competing, coming off a win in the Transylvania (G3) at Keeneland. Trained by Rob Atras, Neat has shown success on both turf and dirt and will be a strong contender in the race.

Another runner to watch is Drunk On Sake, who won impressively on the turf at Saratoga in his last start. Trained by Mertkan Kantarmaci, the Yoshida colt showed improvement in his second start and will be stepping up in class for the Manila. Kantarmaci is confident in the horse's abilities and is excited to see how he performs against tougher competition.
