FanDuel-Diamond Partnership Broadens Scope

Recently, FanDuel secured naming rights for Diamond Sports Group's 16 regional sports networks across 31 states, a move following Diamond's bankruptcy. Previously branded under Bally's, these channels now include FanDuel Sports Network Ohio and FanDuel Sports Network Extra, alongside FanDuel TV—formerly TVG—focused on horse racing, sports shows, and betting content since its 2022 rebranding.

This partnership aims to increase FanDuel's visibility across NBA, NHL, and MLB games through integrated media placements on regional networks. FanDuel TV programs, such as live rights and studio shows like Up & Adams and Run It Back, may be syndicated across the broader FanDuel Sports Network. The collaboration also includes plans for a unified app experience, blending racing and sports programming with direct-to-consumer options.

FanDuel’s president, Mike Raffensperger, emphasised the opportunity to enhance brand alignment with regional sports audiences and reward loyal customers. Diamond CEO David Preschlack highlighted the partnership’s potential to elevate viewer experiences while strengthening ties with local sports communities and enhancing digital offerings.

The regional networks currently broadcast games for 13 NBA and eight NHL teams. However, uncertainties remain in Diamond’s MLB portfolio for 2025, with some teams, like the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves, confirming renewed agreements while others transition to MLB production.

In the horse racing space, FanDuel Racing continues targeting sports bettors, leveraging events like the Kentucky Derby to expand pari-mutuel wagering through its app and website, further intertwining racing with broader sports media.
