This week’s fastest stakes winners probably won’t surprise you. Fierceness tops the list after his thrilling duel with Thorpedo Anna in Saturday’s Grade 1 Travers Stakes. Both horses achieved impressive accolades, earning 107 Brisnet Speed Ratings and 111 Beyer Speed Figures for their remarkable performances.
These Beyer scores are the highest of the year, matching Arthur’s Ride, who also recorded a 111 for his victory in an optional claiming allowance at Saratoga back in June.
In terms of Brisnet ratings, two horses have outshone the pack: Warrior Johny scored a 111 for his optional-claiming allowance win at Saratoga, while Next achieved a 109 for his triumph in the Brooklyn (G2), both races taking place in July.
Also sharing the top spot this week in Brisnet ratings is Raging Torrent, who garnered a 107 for his impressive win in Saturday’s Pat O’Brien (G2) at Del Mar.
