Fierceness is in the 5th place in Global Racehorse Rankings

Fierceness has surged to a tie for fifth place in the latest global racehorse rankings following his victory in the Grade 1 Travers Stakes. In the previous standings released on August 8, he was tied for tenth place after his win in the Jim Dandy (G2).

Meanwhile, City of Troy, a 3-year-old colt by Justify bred in Kentucky and currently racing in Ireland and England, has held onto the second spot in the rankings. Having won three consecutive Group 1 stakes, including the prestigious Epsom Derby, he is anticipated to compete in the Breeders' Cup Classic after his triumph in the Juddmonte International (G1).

These rankings are curated by the world’s leading racehorse rankings committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.

Laurel River, who has not raced since his victory in the Dubai World Cup (G1) this past March, continues to secure the top position. Bred in Kentucky and owned by Juddmonte, he was initially trained by Bob Baffert. After returning under trainer Bhupat Seemar in January at Meydan, he finished seventh in the Al Shindagha Sprint (G3) before capturing the Burj Nahaar (G3) and then winning the World Cup.
