The Quebec Jockey Club is excited to announce the appointment of Guillaume Cayer-Richard as the new Race Secretary for harness racing at Trois-Rivières Racecourse.
The H3R team is thrilled to welcome Guillaume, who brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the needs of Quebec horsemen to the Racing Programming team.
Guillaume Cayer-Richard, a dedicated figure in the horse racing industry since 2015, has been an owner-breeder in the Township of Cleveland in the Eastern Townships. His involvement with Standardbred Canada includes serving as vice-president since February 2024, as well as holding roles as director and representative for breeding since 2020, and president of the breeders' committee since 2021.
In April 2023, Guillaume stepped down as president of the Association Trot et Amble du Québec (ATAQ) to take on this new role, ensuring no conflict of interest. Additionally, he has served as the race director at Autodrome Drummond this year and has been the general manager of the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt since 2021, where he oversees a team of employees and volunteers, managing the event's operations and marketing. His expertise is expected to contribute significantly to our growth objectives.
This appointment aligns with ongoing efforts to revitalise the Quebec horse racing industry, including the revitalisation of the racing calendar with events such as the Regional Drivers’ Championship on June 2, the National Drivers’ Championship on July 5, the return of the Prix d’Été on August 18 after a four-year hiatus, and the reintroduction of Passion Courses at Hippodrome 3R. Other initiatives include the creation of the Trifecta show on RDS and the management of the Lucky Perfecta lottery in collaboration with the Circuit Régional des Courses de Chevaux du Québec (CRCCQ).
The Quebec Jockey Club is proud to have secured such a highly respected and accomplished individual for this pivotal role.
