Gulfstream Park will Host the Grade 3 at Del Mar

On Saturday, Gulfstream Park will feature the Grade 3, $220,000 Princess Rooney Invitational, a key qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint on November 2 at Del Mar. The seven-furlong race, scheduled as the 10th of 11 events, will kick off at 5:35 p.m. EDT, with the first post at 12:55 p.m.

Soul of An Angel enters the race after a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign at Saratoga. Trained by Joseph, she previously won the Grade 2 Ruffian at Aqueduct and is set to face stablemates Haulin Ice and Imonra.

Beth’s Dream, riding a four-race winning streak, enters as a top contender after her recent win in the Sheer Drama Stakes. Victor Barboza Jr. trains both Beth’s Dream and Battle Cry. Florida-bred horses like Beth’s Dream are eligible for a $20,000 bonus from the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders & Owners Association.

Other notable contenders include Grade 1-placed Maryquitecontrary and Pacholli, a Group 1 winner making her U.S. debut. The field is rounded out by Cousin Kristi, Unsolved Mystery, and Gallop d’Hermes.
