As part of the opening card at Hiawatha Horse Park, Coalition Hanover persevered and won the featured conditioned pace.
After finishing fourth off the car in the $5,000 featured pace, Robert Doyle and the Pam Forgie student held that position through panels in:27.4,:58.4, and 1:26.3. Just before the three-quarters, the six-year-old gelding moved, tugging to the outside. With a final quarter time of :27.4, he powered home quickly to win by a length in 1:55.2. Second place went to Pacesetting Legal Bettor (Garrett Rooney), while third place went to Dragon Teen (Anthony Hamlin).
After 101 career starts, Coalition Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere-Crooked Halo) won his 18th race. He increased his career bankroll with Triple S Equine and Brian Hammell's owners to $289,999. He won by paying $12.60.
