As the Second-Team Regional Star, Honest Mischief is bloodstock editor Joe Nevills's runner-up pick for stallions standing at $20,000 or less outside of Kentucky. This selection is based on a combination of factors, including on-track performance, progeny performance, pedigree, physical attributes, and commercial momentum.
Khozan's consistent position as Florida's top general sire would have made him a strong candidate for this list. However, it is the solid foundation on which his dominance is established that earned him a place on the All-Value Sire Team.
Khozan is the offspring of the esteemed broodmare Delta Princess, which grants him the distinction of being a half-sibling to the renowned champion Royal Delta, along with the accomplished Grade 1 victors Delta Prince and Crown Queen. Florida breeders have kept Khozan occupied during the breeding season, but his offspring have achieved triumphs nationwide.
"According to Nevills' analysis, Khozan has an impressive pipeline of 214 young horses, including juveniles, yearlings, and weanlings. This number surpasses the count of many horses standing in Kentucky, which is known for its horse breeding industry," stated Nevills. "It's unlikely that he will face a shortage of support in the near future, and as long as he maintains his performance on the racetrack, customers should continue to demand them eagerly."
