It Takes Two edges ahead by a narrow margin once again

It Takes Two (Artistic Expression) showcased his penchant for the theatrical for a consecutive week at The Raceway at the Western Fair on Monday (Mar. 25), clinching another harness racing Preferred victory by a slim margin

Remaining tucked in the pocket position, Lorne House maintained proximity behind Hollys Treasure (Dan Clements) as they navigated through fractions of :27.3, :57.4, and 1:26.2. It Takes Two manoeuvred outward upon entering the stretch, swiftly closing the gap on Hollys Treasure, while Taylors Credit (Natasha Day) charged fiercely from the outside. In a thrilling finale, the duo surged past Hollys Treasure in the closing meters, with It Takes Two claiming victory by a mere nose over Taylors Credit in a time of 1:55.2. Hollys Treasure finished a quarter-length behind in third place. Despite securing a win the previous week, It Takes Two entered the race with odds of 6-1.

It Takes Two's recent triumph marked his 15th victory in 59 career starts, boosting his total earnings to $107,821. Trained by Scott McNiven, this four-year-old gelding, owned by Kimberley McNiven of Putnam and Bradley Douglas of Ingersoll, has maintained a consistent record of earning prize money, having not missed a paycheck since June, accumulating cash in 30 consecutive starts.

Travis Henry emerged as the standout driver of the day, securing three victories during the 10-race card.

Action at The Raceway at the Western Fair District is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, Mar. 26. The highlight of the 11-race program, kicking off at 5:50 p.m. EDT, is the Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace event.
