James Macdonald Clinches Another Hat Trick in Driving Triumph

Harness racing driver James Macdonald emerged victorious in the latest event at Woodbine Mohawk Park, securing a remarkable three wins during the ten-dash card on Thursday evening.

Macdonald's impressive display started with a commanding performance in the opening race, guiding Hallie Inthecloud to a dominant victory. The three-year-old filly surged to the front early on and maintained a two-length lead over Quick Fix throughout the race. Clocking fractions of 28.3, 1:01.0, and 1:30.4, Hallie Inthecloud showcased exceptional form, crossing the finish line with a swift final quarter of 28.1 and a final mile time of 1:59.0. Quick Fix settled for second place, while Come On Stanley secured third.

In the sixth race, Macdonald continued his winning streak aboard the Richard Moreau-trained Hillbilly Jet. The ten-year-old mare bided her time in fourth position as Silly But Serious set the pace with a 26.4 opening quarter. Gradually advancing, Hillbilly Jet engaged in a tight battle with Silly But Serious at the halfway mark before asserting her dominance.

With a three-quarter time of 1:26.3, Hillbilly Jet powered home with a 29.0 last quarter, crossing the line in 1:55.3. Play Duhara claimed a surprising second place at 40-1 odds, with Eyes On The Prize finishing third at 35-1.

Macdonald's final triumph of the evening occurred in the seventh race, steering The Pinball Wizard to a hard-fought victory. The Yvette Gallant-trained trotter showcased determination, seizing the early lead and surpassing the longshot Lady All Star to clock a speedy 27.2 opening quarter.

Maintaining a strong pace with fractions of 58.3 and 1:27.2, The Pinball Wizard sealed the win with a 29.0 last quarter, crossing the line in 1:56.2. Tyrone Boy Tie put up a commendable performance to secure second place after starting from eighth, while Er Norma held on for third.
