Lorne House Gears Up for Drivers' Holiday Challenge Debut

Lorne House, a well-known figure at The Raceway in the Western Fair District, is set to participate in his first-ever driving challenge on Tuesday, December 10. This marks his debut in the track's fifth Annual Drivers’ Holiday Challenge, an event supporting the Toys For Tots initiative. At 43, the Dutton, Ontario native is eager to compete at his home track after years of success and a recent recovery from injury earlier this year.

House, who has secured 110 wins and over $710,000 in earnings this season, views this as a highlight in what has been a strong year. His achievements include a record-breaking performance by The Great Reset, a trotter he trains and co-owns, who set a track record of 1:55.3 in May. Despite missing that moment due to injury, House is back in action and optimistic about his chances in Tuesday's seventh race with The Great Reset.

The event features 12 races, and House is scheduled to drive in each, including three morning line favourites: Sheplaysforkeeps, Furiosa, and Land Of Paradise. Confident in his lineup, he believes his familiarity with the local horses gives him an edge but acknowledges the talent among his competitors, including drivers like Tyler Borth and Natasha Day.

The evening begins at 5:50 p.m. and coincides with special promotions and COSA TV’s final live broadcast of the year, ensuring an exciting night for fans and participants alike.
