Majorca N Secures Sixth Victory of the Season

The Harrington Raceway harness racing program on Tuesday, September 24, showcased a trio of $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) first-leg stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers.

In the opening division, Tilted Crown (Royal Mattjesty, $4, Russell Foster), trained by Steve Leblanc, delivered a wire-to-wire performance, clocking in at 1:58.2. This Royal Mattjesty filly achieved her first career victory, finishing ahead of Im Won Last Wiser and Krockpot Kate. Tilted Crown is owned by Leblanc Stable, William Lutz, Count De Money Stable, and Douglas Johnson.

The second division was claimed by Jo Ann Looney-King’s Mimosa On The Key (Roddys Bags Again, $8.80, Ross Wolfenden), who also clocked a time of 1:58.2. The filly surged to the front as the gates opened and maintained her lead throughout, winning easily against Odds Beater and Mornin Merle. Jim King Jr. trains the victorious filly.

Little Miss Peyton (Papa Ray, $2.60, Corey Callahan), owned by Donna Messick, emerged as the fastest winner of the day, posting a time of 1:57.2 in the final DSBF division for trainer Les Givens. The filly secured her second career win as the overwhelming favourite, finishing ahead of Infinite Wonders and Banana Cabana.

In the $22,500 Free-For-All for pacing mares, Majorca N (Art Major, $7.40, Corey Callahan) led throughout the race, finishing in 1:53. The 9-year-old mare achieved her sixth victory of the season for trainer Dylan Davis, who co-owns her with Mike Casalino Jr.

Trae Porter and Pat Berry each recorded three driving wins, while trainer Mike Hall also celebrated three victories.

Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until October 23.
