MGM Yonkers International Trot will be this Saturday

The $1 million MGM Yonkers International Trot is set to take place this Saturday, September 7, at Yonkers Raceway, featuring an impressive lineup of international trotters. Among the competitors is Canada's own Logan Park, trained by Rob and Kyle Fellows. He will start in post position five and is the reigning O’Brien Award winner for Older Trotter of the Year. Logan Park has achieved 31 career wins and earned over $1.35 million, boasting a strong performance this year with seven victories in 11 starts.

Another trotter with Canadian ties is Its Academic, starting from post six. Owned by Brad Grant and trained by Ron Burke, this seven-year-old has a career record of 32 wins and over $2.6 million in earnings. He is a seasoned competitor, having placed third in the Yonkers International last year.

Additionally, Periculum, the recent Maple Leaf Trot champion, will start from post 10. Trained by Marcus Melander, he has earned nearly $864,000 and has experience racing internationally.

The field also includes several other notable competitors from abroad, such as the Swedish mare Jiggy Jog S, who has been undefeated this year, and representatives from France, Italy, and Denmark.
