Moira Heads to Yulong Stud After Breeders’ Cup Victory

Recently acquired by Yulong Investments for $4.3 million, Moira, the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) winner, is set to join Yulong Stud in Mangalore, Australia, located about 90 minutes from Melbourne. The purchase was made by Yulong’s owner, Yuesheng Zhang, who successfully bid online through The November Sale while in Melbourne, just ahead of the Melbourne Cup.

Offered by Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa on behalf of X-Men Racing, Madaket Stables, and SF Bloodstock, Moira capped her racing career with a thrilling victory, winning by half a length over Cinderella’s Dream.

Vin Cox, General Manager at Yulong Stud, stated that although they have not finalized plans, they’re likely to continue racing Moira, potentially in Australia.

Yulong Investments has made significant strides in the Australian racing scene, recently celebrating another win as Treasurethe Moment clinched the VRC Oaks (G1). Trained by Matt Laurie, the filly is from the first crop of Yulong’s stallion Alabama Express.

As a prominent force in the Australian racing and breeding industry, Yulong’s influence spans beyond Australia, with ongoing operations in Europe, and the U.S., and a goal to expand racing in China.
