Graded stakes-winning mare Nadette realised $420,000, purchased by Stepaside Farm.

Nadette, a graded stakes-winning mare, topped the inaugural Fasig-Tipton July Digital Sale, fetching $420,000. The 5-year-old French-bred daughter of Outstrip, who claimed victories in this year's Wilshire Stakes (G3T) and Beverly D. Preview Stakes, was bought by Stepaside Farm. The sale, which featured a catalogue of 194 horses of racing age and breeding stock, opened on July 18 and closed on July 23.

Consigned as Hip 39 by Team Valor International, Nadette was offered as a racing and broodmare prospect. She joined Southern California trainer Neil Drysdale's barn in the fall of 2022, placing in three stakes, including a runner-up finish in the 2022 Autumn Miss Stakes (G3T) at Santa Anita Park. Nadette enjoyed a breakout season in 2024, highlighted by her black-type victories and a third-place finish in the Buena Vista Stakes (G2T) in March.

Barry Irwin, CEO of Team Valor International, expressed satisfaction with the sale, stating, "We changed our business model a couple of years ago to be more commercial, selling horses with racing life left in them. This worked out well for our partners."

Nadette is one of two winners produced from the Pivotal mare Ciboulette, boasting earnings of $329,634 with five wins from 21 starts.

The second-highest price of $310,000 was for the Successful Appeal mare Right Prevails and her 2024 colt by Jackie's Warrior, offered as Hip 15. Bought by Sequel Bloodstock New York, the duo was part of the dispersal for Ladkin Estate & Thomas Partnership. Right Prevails, a full sibling to 2005 Kentucky Derby (G1) runner-up Closing Argument, is the dam of multiple New York-bred stakes winner Barese and stakes-placed Breakfastatbonnies. She is believed to be in foal to Spendthrift Farm stallion and 2022 champion 2-year-old male Forte. Her 2024 colt will be part of Jackie's Warrior's first crop, registered as a New York-bred and eligible for the Finger Lakes Futurity series.

Leif Aaron, director of digital sales, stated, "This was our inaugural July Digital Sale, and we're thrilled with the results. It was a very strong digital sale with record participation from buyers and sellers and a rock-solid 83 percent clearance rate."
