On Wednesday, Aug. 7, Michael Hall dominated the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund (MSRF) Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies at Ocean Downs, winning both $36,215 divisions.
Second Division:
- Ragtime Red won in 1:55.4, breaking her maiden. Driven by Trae Porter, she defeated Lyons Benz by 2-1/2 lengths. Bella Artiste took third. Ragtime Red, a homebred for David Banks, paid $4.80.
First Division:
- Little Instigator secured a win in 1:57.2 for her third career victory. Jonathan Roberts drove her to a 3-1/4 length win over Baby Doll Jordyn. Little Instigator, owned by William and Sarah MacMillan, paid $2.10.
Two-Year-Old Trotting Fillies:
First Split:
- K J The Thirteenth broke her maiden with a 2:01.4 win. Tony Morgan drove her to victory for trainer John Wagner. She paid $2.80.
Second Split:
- Casino Magic won in 2:03.1 after the favourite broke stride. Roger Plante Jr. drove her to victory over Watch Me Goo This. Casino Magic, trained by Steve LeBlanc, paid $11.60.
Leading drivers Johnathan Ahle and Trae Porter each secured three wins on the card, while Tony Morgan had a double.
Live racing resumes at Ocean Downs on Thursday, Aug. 8, featuring the $23,500 final of the Diane 'Mum' Stevenson Claiming Series, with a 7:05 p.m. post time.
