Old Friends Announces Arrival of Zenyatta's First Foal to Retirement Farm

Old Friends, a Thoroughbred retirement sanctuary located in Georgetown, Kentucky, has proudly added Cozmic One (Bernardini) to its roster of retirees. Cozmic One is the first foal of the legendary Zenyatta, the 2010 Horse of the Year and Hall of Famer, according to a release from the non-profit organisation on Wednesday.

The 12-year-old dark bay gelding arrived at the facility on Tuesday, October 1, thanks to his owner, Ann Holbrook, who, along with her late ex-husband Jerry Moss, has been a dedicated supporter of Old Friends for many years.

"We are delighted to welcome Cozmic One to a life of retirement at Old Friends," said John Nicholson, President and CEO. "As the first offspring of the remarkable Zenyatta, Cozmic One occupies a special spot in the hearts of racing fans everywhere."

Nicholson added, "We invite everyone to come and visit him as he begins his important new role as an ambassador for Thoroughbred Aftercare. We are immensely grateful to Ann Holbrook and Dottie Ingordo for entrusting us with their beloved Cozmic One."
