Ordained and others Shine in Pocono Features

Three $21,127 featured events headlined the penultimate card of the 2024 Pocono Downs meet on Tuesday, Nov. 19, showcasing rising stars in the harness racing scene:

- Ordained, a three-year-old Father Patrick gelding, cruised to victory in 1:54.4 in the trotting feature. Driver Tyler Buter, who collected four wins on the day, guided him to a decisive front-end win for trainer Ron Burke and the ownership group including Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, Beasty LLC, and Frank Baldachino.

- Oakwood Heymiki IR, fresh off a 1:49.2 debut at The Meadowlands, impressed again with a 1:50.1 win in the male pacing event. The Always B Miki gelding unleashed a powerful first-over move and clocked a blazing :54 back half for driver Tyler Buter and trainer Robert Cleary, racing under the stable name Huschka & Flowers.

- The pacing filly feature saw Kiss My Cheek, a McWicked sophomore, dominate in 1:51.4. Driver Matt Kakaley placed her on the lead early, and she controlled the race with effortless fractions for trainer Nik Drennan and owners Joseph Davino, Drennan Stable LLC, and Patrick O’Brien.

In a standout $20,423 distaff pace, world record holder Beach Cowgirl notched an effortless 1:50 victory, closing in :27. Now a four-year-old with over $506,000 in earnings, she extended the remarkable seasons of both driver Matt Kakaley and trainer Ron Burke, who each scored three wins on the day.

The 2024 meet concludes on Saturday, Nov. 23, with a 14-race card starting at 1 p.m., during which the leading horsemen will be honoured.
