Quality over quantity

Graham Motion has had a strong start to the year, with four graded-stakes wins and earnings of $3.3 million. While these numbers may be lower than in past years, Motion is happy with the emphasis on quality over quantity in his stable.

One of Motion's standout runners this year is Trikari, who recently claimed victory in the Belmont Derby Invitational. This Grade 1 win was a significant milestone for Motion, who is pleased with Trikari's success. The talented 3-year-old son of Oscar Performance has also won the American Turf and placed third in the Penn Mile. Motion is considering options for Trikari's next races, including the Saratoga Derby and the Secretariat at Colonial.

Another runner to watch in Motion's barn is Sparkle Blue, a 5-year-old mare who won the Hillsborough earlier this year. Despite a tough outing in New York, Motion is confident in Sparkle Blue's abilities and is aiming for a win in the upcoming Big Dreyfus at Laurel Park.

Mission of Joy, The Grey Wizard, Dataman, and Toupie are among the other stakes runners in Motion's stable who are showing promise this year. Each horse has had recent successes and is gearing up for upcoming races.

Vergara, Highland Chief, No Show Sammy Joe, Five Towns, and Marksman Queen are also in Motion's lineup and are set to compete in various races in the coming weeks. Motion is optimistic about the potential of these talented runners and is looking forward to seeing them perform on the track.

Overall, Motion is pleased with the success of his stable this year and is excited to see what the future holds for his talented group of stakes runners.
