Sauble Attack Shocks Competition at Summerside

Summerside, PE – The Sauble Attack (Bettor’s Delight), driven by Ken Murphy, pulled off an impressive upset in the harness racing feature at Red Shores Summerside on Tuesday night.

Starting at 17/1 odds, Murphy guided the Paul Biggar-trained horse to the front, managing fractional times of 27.4, 58, and 1:27.2 before securing his third victory of the season with a finishing time of 1:57.2. Brookdale Johnny (Paul Langille) took second place, while Coasttocoastshark (Brady Sweet) rounded out the top three. Sauble Attack's win paid out at $37.90, with the 4-5-1 triactor returning a hefty $400.60. Biggar shares ownership of the pacer with Donald Callbeck, both from Summerside, PE.

In other races, Majestic Mason (Arthur Blue Chip) triumphed in the Leon James Stewart memorial, trained by Rick Armstrong, clocking in at 2:00 flat. The three-year-old colt is owned by Stephen Downey from Quispamsis, NB.

Promise Me Later (Articulator) delivered a gate-to-wire victory in the John Stewart memorial for trainer-driver David Dowling, finishing in 2:00.1. The filly is owned by Kingsley Walsh from Albany, PE, Frank Balcom from Amherst, NS, and Donald Walsh from Kinkora, PE. Dowling celebrated a driving triple during the event.

Brookdale J Mac (Hes Watching) narrowly claimed victory in the Cecil James Stewart memorial in race 5, with Paul Langille at the reins for trainer Phil Sizer. The horse is owned by Dougal R Polley and Douglas E Polley from Amherst, NS. The Langille, Sizer, and Polley team celebrated a successful night, also sending Brookdale Shelley (2:01.1) and Brookdale Jim (1:59.4) to the Woodmere Standardbreds winner’s circle.

Veteran driver Norris Rogers, in collaboration with trainer Nicholas Oakes and Dunsan Farms, secured two victories during the program. Jack Tar Moxie reached the winner’s circle in 2:01.2, while Century Invictus notched his fifth win of the season with a time of 1:59.4. Rogers is now just ten wins shy of reaching 1,000 career victories.
