Standardbred Canada is gearing up for the 2024 National Driving Championship (NDC) with an exciting lineup of events. The NDC Driver Showcase will kick off the action, streaming live on the Standardbred Canada website and Facebook page at 8:30 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, July 4. McKelvie expressed his excitement about being part of such a prestigious racing event that spans across Canada, emphasising the competitive spirit and support from fans nationwide. The showcase sets the stage for the main event, the 2024 NDC, which will take place at Hippodrome 3R on Friday, July 5, also streamed live on the Standardbred Canada website, with the first race starting at 4 p.m. (EDT).
During Friday's event, the NDC will unfold across nine races, determining the champion who will represent Canada at the 2025 World Driving Championship in New Zealand. Special guests, including Darryl Kaplan, President and CEO of Standardbred Canada, and SC Board members, will join the broadcast alongside host Jean Laroche, conducting interviews with drivers and adding to the excitement of the day.
The NDC promises thrilling competition and a showcase of Canada's top harness racing talent, highlighting the passion and dedication of participants and fans alike from coast to coast.
