Square Deal emerged victorious from the pocket, crossing the finish line in 1:52.2 to claim the featured $30,821 Free-For-All at Harrington Raceway.
Under the guidance of Tony Morgan, the four-year-old mare owned by Mark Howard shadowed the frontrunner Shield Maiden for most of the race, then made her move by pulling out from the pocket position approaching three-quarters. Square Deal surged past the leader and held on to win by a length, with Melody Hanover and Twin Delight following behind. This marks the second recent victory in this competitive class for Will Reynolds' trainee, who has accumulated $99,084 in earnings this season. Earlier this year, she set her lifetime best at Harrington with a 1:51.4 performance on May 14.
Meanwhile, Need Ur Opinion, owned by Cathy Spinella and driven by Allan Davis, notched her 15th win of the year, clocking a time of 1:55.3 under the training of Phil Mitchell. Despite regularly changing barns and being claimed in seven consecutive starts, the seven-year-old pacing mare leads all North American Standardbreds in wins this season.
