The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) will be present at Woodbine Racetrack for the fourth annual Woodbine Aftercare Day on Saturday, October 5. TAA will showcase the GII Nearctic Stakes, presenting awards to the winning connections along with a TAA-branded blanket and gift bag.
In addition, TAA will award the Best Turned-Out Horse Awards, sponsored by Josham Farms Limited, for all stakes races held on that day. Recipients of these awards will receive gift bags filled with TAA-branded merchandise and a cash prize.
Throughout the event, jockeys and valets will have the opportunity to donate a portion of their race earnings from the day’s races to the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
"Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is incredibly grateful to Woodbine Racetrack for their ongoing support and dedication to accredited aftercare," remarked Stacie Clark-Rogers, Operations Consultant for TAA. "This event is designed to honour and promote the Thoroughbred, both on and off the track, and the Best Turned Out Horse awards are a fantastic way to showcase that."
Woodbine Racetrack will also contribute a donation to TAA during the festivities.
"We are privileged to host the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance for Woodbine Aftercare Day," stated Martha Wakely of Thoroughbred Racing Operations at Woodbine Entertainment. "Our community of accredited aftercare supporters at Woodbine is strong, and this event provides a great opportunity to shine a light on the vital work being done for Thoroughbreds both on and off the racetrack."
