The King’s Plate is aired by Sportsnet and Citytv

Woodbine Entertainment and Rogers Sports & Media have announced a new partnership to bring live horse racing coverage to fans across Canada. The agreement includes broadcasting Canada's most prestigious Thoroughbred horse race, The King's Plate, as well as premier racing events from Woodbine and around the world.

CEO of Woodbine Entertainment, Michael Copeland, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it will provide sports fans with more opportunities to enjoy the sport of horse racing. The 165th King's Plate will be broadcast on both Sportsnet and Citytv on Saturday, August 17, and will also be available for streaming on Sportsnet+ and Citytv+.

The agreement extends beyond The King's Plate, with the Prince of Wales Stakes and the Breeders' Stakes, part of the Canadian Triple Crown, also being aired on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+. Several other races from Woodbine Racetrack, including the Woodbine Oaks, Greenwood Stakes, Turf Champions Day, and Turf Finals Day, will be available for viewing on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ as well.

Fans can also look forward to watching select international races on Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, Citytv, and Citytv+ as part of the new media rights agreement. The partnership aims to deepen the connection and engagement of sports fans with horse racing in Canada and around the world.
