The initial race of the New Holland Pacing Series occurred on Saturday (Mar. 16) evening as part of the ten-race harness racing program. The event had two divisions, held during the second and third races.
Hp Momentum emerged victorious in the initial race of the New Holland Pacing Series. Trevor Henry took the five-year-old gelding to an early sixth-place position. Poseidon Seelster, driven by Tyler Moore, took the lead from the start and maintained a pace of 26.4, 56.2, and 1:23.4. Right after passing the half-mile point, Hp Momentum made his move, but he still had a considerable distance ahead of him. Having to make a wide turn around the last bend, Hp Momentum finished the last quarter in 28.3 seconds and completed the mile in 1:53.
Poseidon Seelster maintained second place while The Greek Freak (Tyler Jones) made a strong late surge to secure third.
