Hades, the victor of the Holy Bull (G3) on February 3 at Gulfstream Park, leads a group of 10 three-year-olds in the upcoming 42nd edition of the $400,000 Stonestreet Lexington (G3) at Keeneland. The race will be 1 1/16 miles long.
Lexington is the 10th race on the 11-race program, starting at 5:48 p.m. (ET).
The Lexington represents the ultimate challenge in the journey towards the Kentucky Derby, providing a generous allocation of 42 points to the top five finishers on a 20-10-6-4-2 scale. The Kentucky Derby is restricted to the highest 20-point earners and individuals who have received invitations.
Hades, under the guidance of Joe Orseno, has garnered an impressive 30 points on his journey to the Kentucky Derby. In his latest performance, Hades secured the fifth position in the highly competitive Curlin Florida Derby (G1) Presented by Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms at Xalapa on March 30.
Hades encountered an initial setback and dropped to the final position in the Florida Derby race, only to later make a vast and impressive comeback. Orseno plans to equip Hades with blinkers for the Lexington.
