On Sunday, August 11, Tioga Downs will host two $57,000 divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for three-year-old colts and gelding trotters.
In the first division, Fly By is the 8-5 morning line favourite from post four. Trained by Tony Alagna and driven by Jason Bartlett, this Chapter Seven colt previously won an NYSS division on July 18 at Yonkers Raceway for Canadian owners Marvin Katz, Al Libfeld, and Pryde Stables Inc.
Thinker Monkey, trained by Marcus Melander, is the 5-2 second choice from the outside post. Driven by Mark MacDonald, this Chapter Seven colt is winless this season, but recently finished second in the Muscle Hill at The Meadowlands.
In the second division, Sir Pinnochio is the 7-5 morning line favourite from post three with Bartlett in the sulky. Bred and owned by Carolyn Atherton and trained by Ed Hart, this Mets Hall gelding has secured victories in the Yonkers Trot, Dexter Cup, and NYSS events at Yonkers and Monticello Raceway. He is coming off a second-place finish in a Muscle Hill division.
Keep Asking, trained by George Ducharme and the 3-1 second choice, will start from post two with Tyler Buter driving. This Chapter Seven colt previously won an NYSS division at Monticello.
