Topsham Fair hosted four $22,000-plus divisions

On August 6-7, Topsham Fair hosted four $22,000-plus divisions of the Maine Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacers.

Tuesday, Aug. 6:

- Gowestyounggrace won the Jake Phipps Memorial for pacing fillies in 2:02.2, leading wire-to-wire. Driven by Dave Ingraham, she defeated Pembroke Red by 1-1/4 lengths. Gowestyounggrace, trained by Fred Ward Jr., paid $3.40 and earned her 10th career win.

- Whos Perfect secured the second division in 2:02.3. Heath Campbell drove her to a half-length victory over My Sweet Revenge. Trained by Valerie Grondin, Whos Perfect paid $2.80 and now has $119,530 in earnings.

Wednesday, Aug. 7:

- Arts Flight won the first colt division, the Scott Brewer Memorial, in 2:00. He edged out Whats For Suppaah by three parts of a length. Trained by Marc Tardiff, Arts Flight paid $6.60 and has earned nearly $40,000 this year.

- Two Fold Cold remained unbeaten for the season, winning the second division in 1:59.4. He pulled away from the field to secure a 2-3/4 length victory. Trained by Marc Tardiff, Two Fold Cold, owned by Tardiff and bred by Gary and Kristina Hall, paid $2.80 and has $90,680 in earnings.

The Maine Sire Stakes continues at Topsham on August 10 with trotters, and the series moves to Skowhegan Fair from August 12-17.
