Triumph for Racy Roxy A: The Mare's First North American Victory

Racy Roxy A triumphed in the highly anticipated Fillies & Mares Open Handicap Pace at Saratoga Casino Hotel on the afternoon of February 13th.

Trainer Rob Harmon showcased his expertise with a notable double win, spearheaded by the dominant performance of Racy Roxy A. As the even-money favourite in the $20,270 race, Racy Roxy A swiftly seized the early lead and maintained an unchallenged position throughout the first half, completing it in a commendable time of :57.3.

Sensing the need for an additional burst of energy, driver Jay Randall coaxed Racy Roxy A to unleash her full potential approaching the three-quarter pole. The result was a remarkable display of speed and prowess, as Racy Roxy A surged ahead, leaving her competitors in her wake. Crossing the finish line with a comfortable margin, Racy Roxy A clinched a well-deserved victory, clocking in at a career-best time of 1:54.4 for the mile. Probert, last week’s Open winner, put forth a valiant effort, securing second place, while Magical Maya A, the runner-up in the season’s inaugural feature for mares, delivered a strong finish to claim the third spot.

Mike Casalino Jr. of Freehold, New Jersey, proudly owns Racy Roxy A, who celebrated her maiden win out of five starts in North America. This exceptional triumph marked the mare's 11th lifetime victory and significantly boosted her earnings to an impressive $166,541.

Notably, Racy Roxy A's triumph was just one of the highlights for Trainer Rob Harmon, who enjoyed a successful day with two winners. Furthermore, driver Jay Randall showcased his exceptional skills, achieving a total of three victories, including a remarkable performance with the promising young pacing mare, Two Star Magic. Demonstrating remarkable progress, Two Star Magic set a new personal best for the second consecutive week, solidifying her growing reputation in the racing circuit.
