After a 10-week layoff, Windsun Tiara returned refreshed and dominated the feature race at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The 4-year-old daughter of American Ideal-Windsun Princess won the $15,972 conditioned pace for fillies and mares in a career-best 1:51.1.
Driver Aaron Merriman guided Windsun Tiara to an early lead, holding off the first-over challenge from Twenty Grand and defeating Cathy Hanover by five lengths. Hillbillyclassygirl finished third.
Trained by Randy Bendis and owned by Pollack Racing LLC, Windsun Tiara increased her career earnings to $162,853.
Hunter Myers drove three winners on the 13-race card.
