The dawn of the racing season at Woodbine saw five horses taking the lead in recording workouts for 2024, with three on the training track and two on the primary track, Tapeta. Kevin Attard, a Sovereign Award finalist, orchestrated the training of a trio of three-year-olds who effortlessly covered 2 furlongs in a swift 26 seconds on March 12.
The trio included the filly Moddassah, representing Al and Bill Ulwelling, and the colts North Warden (Canuck Racing Club) and Quiet Knight (Terra Racing), all showcasing synchronised timing. Additionally, Laura Krasauskaite’s Frost Bitten completed a 3-furlong stint on the main track in 36.20, while the unraced colt Bourbon North, sired by Collected, demonstrated prowess by tackling four furlongs in 51.40.
