On Saturday, May 4th, Woodbine Racetrack will host its fifth annual Derby Day Party, sponsored by Bulleit Bourbon. The selling of tickets has begun.
The first event of the 2024 Thoroughbred season celebrates the 150th running of the $5 million Kentucky Derby and features a live stream from Churchill Downs, food, fashion, and live Woodbine racing. Woodbine’s race card will be highlighted by the $135,000 Whimsical Stakes, presented by Bulleit Bourbon (G3).
Woodbine is bringing a piece of the Derby to Toronto. Guests will enjoy a variety of complimentary Southern gourmet food and dessert stations. Tickets also include a Mint Julep, the signature cocktail of the Kentucky Derby, in a complimentary solid copper cup.
The Woodbine Turf Lounge will host the viewing party. Previously known as Favourites, the Turf Lounge is a recently remodeled event area located on the second floor of the Woodbine grandstand. The area has an outside balcony, three tiers of seating, and a panoramic view of the racetrack.
It's highly encouraged to wear hats, fascinators, and Derby-style clothing. A picture booth, raffle prizes, a "Best Dressed" competition, and more are planned.
