Woodbine's backstretch is now bustling with activity, with the Tapeta track set to open on March 11. While some stables remain in the US, anticipation is high for the debut of a promising 4-year-old equine star in Florida this Sunday.

Paramount Prince, winner of the King's Plate and proudly owned by Mike Langlois and Gary Barber, is set to shine at Gulfstream Park. Trained by Mark Casse, this talented chestnut gelding has been perfecting his craft on the Tapeta surface. Jockey Irad Ortiz will navigate Paramount Prince from post 1 in a competitive field, facing formidable opponents like the 2022 Breeders’ Stakes champion Sir For Sure. The upcoming 9th race on Sunday is sure to deliver an exciting and thrilling showdown.

In more racing updates, a group of Canadians and horse enthusiasts associated with Woodbine travelled to Barbados for the prestigious 41st Sandy Lane Gold Cup (G1), which was won by Portfolio Company owned by Gay Smith. Notable performances included Woodbine's Pat'ssewingmachine, ridden skillfully by jockey Rocco Bowen to a commendable third place under the guidance of trainer Ted Holder.
