Intense Competition Wraps Up MacRae Memorial Series at Red Shores
On December 22, the local racing scene witnessed an exciting afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino, as the event featured top local pacers and trotters alongside the conclusion of the Joe and Steven MacRae Memorial Pacing Series.
In Race 1, a $7,500 Horses and Geldings division, it was reported that Luigi Bizacko, at 8-1 odds, managed to surge ahead in the final moments to secure victory over the favoured Poplar Artie, with Midnight MacNeill finishing third. Luigi Bizacko, a seven-year-old gelding owned by Amanda Mactavish and trained by Steven Murphy, is sired by Rock N Roll Heaven.
The second division of the $7,500 MacRae Memorial saw Dylan Sam emerge as a dominant force, finishing first in 2:01.4 at 15-1 odds. A $1,430.45 triactor ticket accompanied his victory, which included Power Of Four and Pineapple Express. The eight-year-old Dylan Sam, co-owned and trained by Allan Gregory and Tyson MacDonald, is a product of Sweet Lou.
Meanwhile, in the $7,500 Fillies and Mares split, Sagali lived up to her role as the 3-5 favourite, clinching victory in 2:02.4. Heatherspet also celebrated success in a similar division, taking the win at 7-1 odds under the handling of Adam Merner.
The afternoon wrapped up with Marc Campbell driving Roll Em to a wire-to-wire victory in the $4,600 Preferred Pace, while Fight Song triumphed in the $3,650 Open Trot.
