Last week's 20 fastest stakes winners were determined by their speed figures. Dornoch emerged as the leader with a Brisnet Speed Rating of 106 for his surprising victory in the Belmont Stakes. Jockey Luis Saez guided the Good Magic colt, a sibling to Kentucky Derby winner Mage, to cover the Saratoga track in 2:01.64 over 1 1/4 miles. Cogburn claimed the highest Beyer of the weekend with a rating of 111 in the Grade 1 Jaipur at Saratoga, setting a track record of 59.80 seconds over 5 1/2 furlongs under jockey Irad Ortiz for trainer Steve Asmussen. The 5-year-old Not This Time progeny garnered a 100 Brisnet Speed Rating and a 131 from TimeformUS.
The second-highest Beyer of the year was notched by Ova Charged with a 113 Beyer for her dominant triumph in the Page Cortez Stakes at Fair Grounds. Despite not being a graded stakes event, Arthur's Ride earned a 111 Beyer for his standout performance in an optional-claiming allowance race at Saratoga. Under the guidance of jockey Junior Alvarado, the 4-year-old Tapit colt led the 1 1/4-mile race from start to finish, winning by a significant margin for trainer Bill Mott.
