29 Are Added to the Midlantic 2-Year-Olds Sale by Fasig-Tipton
A catalogue for the Midlantic 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale includes close to 500 horses.
29 more entries have been catalogued by Fasig-Tipton for their Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale, which will take place at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland, on May 20–21.
2-year-olds by Bolt d'Oro, Gun Runner, Hard Spun, Into Mischief, Justify, Not This Time, Quality Road, Speightstown, and Tapit are among the entries, which are categorised as hips 557–585.
"These supplemental entries add more quality to an already strong catalogue," stated Paget Bennett, Fasig-Tipton Midlantic director of sales.
From May 14–16, there will be three sessions of the under-tack show. Each session will start at 8 a.m. The deal starts at 11 a.m. every day.
A $1 million Arrogate filly by the name of Nuit Magique, consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds and bought by worldwide bloodstock agent Kerri Radcliffe, topped last year's sale. The filly is still not in the race.
Sabatini, an Uncle Mo filly out of the successful Blame daughter Gabriellestoblame, is also one of the best purchases of 2023. Solis/Litt paid $625,000 to Pick View for Sabatini. Josie Carroll is Sabatini's trainer, and she is currently raced by NK Racing and LNJ Foxwoods. On April 27, the filly triumphed in the Star Shoot Stakes at Woodbine, breaking her maiden.
Last year, the Midlantic sale brought in $34,795,500 after selling 375 horses. A year ago, fillies averaged $91,053 and colts $94,729 on average. $92,788 was the average amount total.
