Agent Of Fortune's triumph at Harrah’s Hoosier Park
Agent Of Fortune rebounded from her first defeat of 2024 with a commanding win in the sole $130,136 division of the Indiana Sire Stakes for three-year-old trotting fillies at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The highlight of the 13-race Tuesday (June 25) card was the third round of eight for the sophomore trotting fillies.
Starting from post two in a field of eight, driver Robert Taylor positioned Agent Of Fortune in third position early on, while Black Gold (James Yoder) took command to set a brisk :28.3 opening quarter. Opting not to stay in the pocket, driver Trace Tetrick sent Somebody Special to the lead on the backstretch, with the fillies reaching the half in :57.4. Approaching the final turn, Taylor made his move with Agent Of Fortune, advancing first-over and reaching second position alongside the leader at three-quarters in 1:27.1, as 1-5 favourite Skyway Paige (LeWayne Miller) struggled to keep pace.
Agent Of Fortune surged to the lead turning for home, pulling away from Somebody Special and holding off a late charge from Skyway Paige, who closed strongly in the stretch. Agent Of Fortune maintained her lead courageously, trotting the final quarter in :28 to secure victory by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.1. Hail Broadway (Jordan Ross), who rallied from last position turning for home, completed the trifecta.
Trained and co-owned by Robert Taylor under Taylor Racing LLC along with Bert Paddock, Agent Of Fortune has now won six of seven starts in 2024, accumulating $156,191 in earnings for the year and $264,342 in her career. Bred by Black Creek Farm, the daughter of Dover Dan out of Posterity has tallied eight wins in 17-lifetime starts.
